At 8:50 in the morning on Friday June 17, Melissa’s plane landed at Arlanda Airport. Me and mom picked up Melissa at the station in Västerås shortly before one o’clock and we went directly from there to the tax office to hand in the application for a marriage license. After that mom took us to Blomstergatan so we could hang out by ourselves.
I proposed at the first suitable opportunity. I don’t know if it’s because she loves me, or if it was thanks to the beautiful rose and the yummy chocolate-covered strawberries, but to my joy and happiness, Melissa said “yes”.
The rest of the day we just chilled, watched Sherlock Holmes and had genuine Swedish Hawaiian pizza.
On Saturday we went on a picnic with mom to Ängsö. We stopped at Kungsbyn to get some sandwiches.
After Ängsö we went to check out the old burial mound at Anundshög. I’m not sure what Melissa thought about it but I hope she liked it.
We finished off the day by heading to mom and dad’s place, where we were treated to waffles and the best strawberries I’ve had in my entire life!
At about 10:30 in the evening, a delivery guy from Arlanda showed up with Melissa’s suitcase. Naturally it didn’t get on the right plane from Amsterdam. Melissa was kind of amazed at how light it was at that time of day, and I thought it was pretty dark. The sky was marvelously beautiful – a nice backdrop to a wonderful day together with my baby.
